A Little Getaway : Part 3 of 6: The Restroom Rejection

23 Oct

About an hour later the kids were asking if we could stop to use the bathroom. Expecting that to be a normal request, I said, “Dad, we need to use the restroom. Would you mind stopping whenever you can.”Rest Area Sign

To my surprise, he quickly retorted, “That won’t be necessary, just hold it!”

Astounded, I was taken back again. Instead of reacting to the situation, I just looked towards mom & Gini as I knew they had to be thinking the same thing I was, Do it again, just praise the Lord!

As our eyes all met, I knew my presumption was correct. Quickly, I prayed under my breath as they did the same. I believed God with all my heart.

A short time later dad just pulled over at a rest stop and said, “It’s time to stop and use the bathrooms.”  Period. No explanations.

Still very surprised at what just transpired, I kept on praising God as we all got out of the car. As I reached the girls, we contained our excitement until we made it into the restroom. Once inside, we praised the Lord out loud. We KNEW for sure that God was working among us.

Second Corinthians 2:14 sums it all up. “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ and through us spreads the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.”

Yes, our thankful hearts received His presence and triumphed through us no matter where we were going that day.
